CaptiFi vs Purple
Purple's Connect plan puts a branded login page on your WiFi for nothing; guest lists and marketing come with Purple's other plans and with Purple Engage, a separate product. CaptiFi costs money once the 30-day trial is over. Every plan keeps a list of the guests who sign in, and from Essentials the same plan lets you email them, text them and ask them for a review.
Every Purple fact here comes from Purple's own website, read on 27 Oct 2026, with a link to the page.

Purple uses the name Engage twice: for its top guest WiFi plan, and for Purple Engage, a separate marketing product at engage.purple.ai. The table names whichever it means.
Which one fits your venue
Both run on the WiFi a venue already has, so it mostly comes down to what you want from the people who log in.
Purple fits if
- You want a free, branded WiFi login page and don't need the guest list yet. Purple's Connect plan costs nothing and needs no card.
- Your access points come from a brand CaptiFi has no setup guide for. Purple's current supported hardware list names 44 brands.
- Your guests need a login page in a language other than English, French or Spanish. Purple lists 25 or more.
- You want to message guests on WhatsApp, which Purple Engage sends through your own Twilio account.
- You run a large estate and want staff WiFi, multi-tenant networks or Passpoint from the same company.
CaptiFi fits if
- You want the guest list and the marketing that uses it in one product, with its price on the website.
- You want email, texts and review requests in the same plan as your WiFi login page, from Essentials up.
- You'd like a points or stamp card loyalty scheme, table bookings and event tickets, all on Growth and up.
- You'd like a WiFi device included against a refundable deposit, on every plan.
The CaptiFi side, in the dashboard
These come from a demo account: campaigns, the review inbox and a stamp card as a guest sees it on their phone.
Questions people ask
Is Purple free?
Purple's Connect plan is, and it doesn't need a card. It gives you a branded login page, social and email sign-in and network analytics. Contact capture and CRM integration come with the Capture and Engage plans, and Purple doesn't publish what those cost. Its small business site sells the Purple plan, £10 a month or £100 a year, and puts marketing in Purple Engage, which has a free plan.
How much does CaptiFi cost?
Lite is £19.99 a month and keeps the guest list for one venue. Essentials is £49 a month, or £39 a month if you pay yearly, and adds email campaigns and review requests. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial.
Will my access points work?
CaptiFi has setup guides for 9 vendor ecosystems, UniFi, Omada and Meraki among them, and can send you its own device instead. Purple's current supported hardware list names 44 brands, so it's worth checking your brand against both.
Try CaptiFi on your own WiFi
