On the Growth plan and above, Rewards gives every venue on your account one loyalty programme. Guests tick Join on the WiFi sign-in form and become members. They earn points for visits and for what they spend, move up tiers, receive a reward by email or text, and swap points for offers in a members catalogue. Staff redeem a reward from a phone by scanning its QR code or typing its code, a trader with no device uses a PIN, and a till can call the API.

A stamp card cannot be checked, so the same reward gets honoured twice, and a loyalty app keeps its own member list, so the person who joined it is a stranger to your WiFi marketing. A scheme across several venues also needs a balance that follows the guest from one bar to the next, in each venue's own currency.
CaptiFi Rewards starts from the sign-in form your guests already use. One programme covers every venue on your account and one member record follows the guest between them. Every reward is single use: the code is marked used the moment it is redeemed, and a second attempt shows when, where and by whom it was first honoured. Offers plug into the email campaigns, automations and texts you already send, and each bar, trader or till gets its own settlement line in the venue's currency.
A Join checkbox on the WiFi sign-in form, separate from marketing consent, or a mode that joins every guest who connects
Points for visits, for Toast and Square orders and for sales keyed at the till, with a sign-up bonus, a birthday bonus and up to five tiers that multiply spend points
Offers of a percentage off, an amount off, a free item or a custom perk, plus shared codes, each reward single use and redeemed from a phone by scan or code
An offer issued when a guest joins and another on each member's birthday, and a members catalogue where a member spends points on an offer
A settlement line per bar, trader or till in the venue's own currency, with a CSV to pay a trader against, and Exposure and Anomalies reports beside it
Reward links, codes and balances as merge tags in email and SMS, three reward triggers for automations, four segment conditions and a till API for your POS
CaptiFi Rewards is the loyalty module built into the guest WiFi platform. One programme covers every venue on your account. Guests tick Join on the WiFi sign-in form and become members; one member record follows them across your venues, so a balance earned at one bar can be spent at another. Members earn points for visits and for what they spend, move up tiers as they earn, receive rewards by email or text, and swap points for offers in a members catalogue. Staff redeem a reward from a phone by scanning its QR code or typing its code, a trader with no device redeems with a PIN on the guest's phone, and a till can call the API. Rewards is included on the Growth plan and above, and the account owner switches it on from the Integrations page.
Each reward arrives as a link by email or text. It opens a page with the offer, an eight-character code, a QR code of the same link, the expiry date in the venue's local time and your terms. Every member also has a rewards page of their own with their balance, their QR code and member number for the till, their tier, the rewards they hold and the catalogue offers they can claim.
Rewards is included on the Growth plan and above. Each venue in the programme settles in its own currency, one of GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, AUD or NZD, and no report adds money up across currencies. Rewards delivered by text to members who gave a phone number and no email address use your SMS credits.
CaptiFi is a guest WiFi marketing platform for venues, restaurants, hotels, cafés, retail spaces and short-term rentals. It turns branded WiFi logins into first-party customer data, automated Google review requests, repeat visitor insights and email marketing lists.
The account owner opens Integrations in the dashboard and switches on the Rewards & Offers card. A Rewards group appears in the sidebar. Rewards is included on the Growth plan and above.
Under Rewards, Setup, name the programme, choose Points or Stamps, tick the venues that take part and set each one's currency. Set the points per visit and per unit spent, the sign-up and birthday bonuses and any tiers, then switch the programme live.
Under Rewards, Offers, create an offer: a percentage off, an amount off, a free item or a custom perk. Tick Give this reward when a guest joins the WiFi to hand it out at sign-in, or give it a points cost and show it in the members catalogue. Activate it.
The sign-in form gains a Join checkbox with your programme's name. A guest who ticks it becomes a member and, when an offer is set to be given on sign-in, receives their reward by email or text. The connected screen says where it went; the code never appears on the splash page.
A visit earns points once per venue per day, a Toast or Square order or a sale keyed at the till earns points on the amount, and members move up tiers as they earn. On their rewards page they see their balance, their QR code and member number, and the catalogue offers they can claim with points.
Staff open Rewards, Redeem on a phone, scan the QR code or type the code, and tap Redeem. The screen turns green with the value to take off the bill and a reference. A trader without a device asks the guest to open the reward and types a PIN on the guest's phone.
Setup, offers, members, redemption, terminals and reports on both dashboards, app.captifi.io and my.captifi.io, with the redeem screen built for a phone.
The sign-in form gains a Join checkbox carrying your programme's name. It is unticked by default and is a separate consent from marketing, so a guest can join your rewards and decline your newsletter. You can instead choose a mode where connecting joins every guest. The connected screen tells the guest where their reward went; the code itself never appears on the splash page. A returning guest whose phone is recognised sees their balance and a Send my rewards link button.
An offer is a percentage off, an amount off, a free item or a custom perk, with an optional minimum spend, terms and a shared code such as SUMMER20. Set it to be given on WiFi sign-in once per guest, every visit or every so many days, cap how many can be issued and redeemed, and choose the ways it may be honoured. Every reward is single use: the code is marked used the moment it is redeemed, and a second attempt shows an Already redeemed card with when, where, how and by whom it was first used.
Run the programme in Points or Stamps. A member earns Points per visit once per venue per local day, Points per unit spent on a settled Toast or Square order or a sale keyed at the till, a Sign-up bonus once and a Birthday bonus once a year at 08:00 local time. A cap on the sale counted for one earn and a daily earn cap keep a mistyped bill from minting a fortune. Up to five tiers group members by the points earned in the last 12 months and multiply their spend points, and points expire after a number of months of inactivity that you set.
Besides the two points bonuses, the programme can hand out an offer of its own at two moments. Offer issued on joining goes out once, at the sign-in that makes the guest a member, delivered like any on-connect reward. Offer issued on a birthday goes out once a year to members with a date of birth on file, at 08:00 in the local time of their home venue. Each is an ordinary offer from your Offers list and follows that offer's own dates, venues and limits.
Give an offer a points cost and tick Show in the members catalogue, and it appears under Spend your points on the rewards page of every member it is valid for. A member with enough points taps Claim; the points come off their balance and the reward is issued in the same step, ready to redeem like any other. When the balance falls short the button is greyed out and a line reads You need N more points. A refused claim deducts nothing, and revoking a claimed reward returns the points.
A member card shows the programme name, the balance, the member number, the tier and the same QR code as the rewards page; each reward is a coupon pass with the offer, its code and its expiry. Passes update as points move and rewards are used, and a used reward is marked as no longer valid in the wallet. The wallet accounts and certificates behind the passes are CaptiFi's, so there is nothing for you to set up: the Add to Apple Wallet and Add to Google Wallet buttons appear once each wallet is live for your account, and the Wallet passes page shows where each stands.
Attach an offer to an email campaign, an email automation and each of its follow-ups, an SMS campaign or an SMS automation, and every recipient gets a reward of their own, placed in the message by merge tags. One reward is minted per recipient per send, so a resend never hands out a second code. Three triggers start automations from rewards activity, four segment conditions pick members out by points, tier and rewards, and four webhook events push that activity to your own systems.
Staff redeem from any phone or tablet that can open the dashboard. A market trader or a bar with no device is a terminal with a six-digit PIN that the guest's own phone accepts. A till or POS uses the terminal's API key and the till API. Every route goes through the same single-use check, every redemption is logged with a reference, and each bar, trader or till gets its own line on the settlement report in the venue's currency, with a CSV to pay a trader against.
Pick an offer under Attach a reward on a campaign, an automation, a follow-up or a text, and place the reward with the tags below. A reward is minted for a recipient when the message shows the reward link, code or expiry; a message that only prints the balance or the rewards page link mints nothing. Consent rules are unchanged: campaigns and automations still go only to guests who opted in to marketing, and texts only to guests who agreed to texts.
| Email tag | What it renders |
|---|---|
{{reward_link}} |
A link to the recipient's reward page: the offer, a QR code, the short code, the expiry date and your terms. Empty without an attached offer. |
{{reward_code}} |
The eight-character code staff type at the till. Empty without an attached offer. |
{{reward_expires}} |
The last day the reward can be used, in the issuing venue's time zone. |
{{rewards_link}} |
A link to the recipient's own rewards page: balance, member number, tier, rewards and activity. Empty for a guest who is not a member. |
{{points_balance}} |
The recipient's current points balance; 0 for a guest who is not a member. |
{{wallet_link}} |
A link to the rewards account page, where the Add to Apple Wallet and Add to Google Wallet buttons are. Empty while wallet passes are switched off at CaptiFi, or for a guest who is not a member. |
In a text the tags are {reward_link}, {rewards_link} and {wallet_link}, and each reward link is counted at 60 characters, so the segment count you see is the most a guest can cost. The email tags work in the subject line as well as the body, and test sends fill them with sample values and mint nothing.
| Trigger | When it sends | Setting |
|---|---|---|
| Points balance reached | Once per member, when their balance climbs from below a number you set to that number or past it. | Points balance to reach, a whole number from 1 to 1,000,000 |
| Reward issued | When a guest is given a reward outside your messaging, for example on WiFi sign-in or by staff from an offer's page. | None |
| Reward about to expire | At 09:00 in the venue's time zone, to each member holding an unused reward that runs out within a window you set, once per reward. | Days before the reward expires, from 1 to 365 |
The segment builder gains Points balance, Rewards tier, Rewards member and Has an unused reward when Rewards is on. A segment of Points balance is at least 500 joined with Has an unused reward is No is a list of members with a healthy balance and nothing to spend it on, ready for a campaign with an offer attached.
Endpoints on your Webhooks page can subscribe to reward.issued, reward.redeemed, reward.redemption_voided and points.earned. Payloads carry ids, the display code staff type, amounts in minor units with their currency, and dates; never a reward link or a token.
Three ways a reward is honoured, all through the same single-use check, so a code can never be used twice however it is presented.
Open Rewards, Redeem, check You are at shows your venue, and tap Scan QR or type the code, a member number, an email address or a phone number. Read the card, type the bill total if the offer has a minimum spend or the sale should earn points, and tap Redeem. A green Redeemed screen shows the value to take off the bill and a reference such as RDM-7F3K9Q. Staff need the Scan and check in at the door or till permission.
For a market trader or a bar with no device of its own. The guest opens their reward and taps Staff: redeem with PIN, the trader types their six-digit PIN on the guest's phone, and the page turns to Redeemed with the reference. The redemption is recorded against that terminal. Five wrong PINs lock that one reward for an hour, and the PIN can rotate weekly by email to the trader.
For low-value perks where you would rather not involve staff. Switch Let guests tap Use now on their own phone on for the offer; it is off by default and only allowed at or below your programme's Use now cap. The guest taps Use now, the reward is redeemed there and then, and the page shows a five-minute display with the venue name, a live clock and the reference for staff to glance at.
The till API is live at https://app.captifi.io/api/v1/rewards-pos. A till authenticates with the key each terminal is given when it is created, sent as a bearer token or as an X-API-KEY header. Six endpoints, all POST with JSON bodies:
| You want to | Endpoint |
|---|---|
| Check what a scanned or typed code is and whether it can be used here | POST /validate |
| Redeem a reward or shared code against a bill | POST /redeem |
| Reverse a sale made in the last 30 minutes | POST /redemptions/{reference}/void |
| Find a member by email or phone | POST /members/find |
| Award points for a sale with no reward | POST /points/earn |
| Check a shared code for this venue and this bill | POST /offers/validate |
A redeem call carries an Idempotency-Key header, so a retry after a timeout replays the stored answer and never doubles a redemption. When two tills race for the same reward, the loser is told it was already redeemed and given the winner's reference. Each terminal has its own rate limit of 120 requests a minute, every refusal has a stable error code, and a key is never written to our logs. Orders from a connected Toast or Square account earn points without anyone touching the till.
A terminal is a bar, trader, kiosk or till that redeems rewards. Each has a name, a venue, a settlement party, a six-digit PIN that rotates weekly or by hand, and a till API key shown once. The Settlement report has one line per venue, terminal and currency with the number of redemptions, the face value and the discount given, and a CSV to pay a trader against. The Exposure report shows what is outstanding, and the Anomalies report lists manual redemptions, restored voids and repeated already-redeemed scans.
Tick each venue that takes part and set its currency: GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, AUD or NZD. Rewards at that venue are valued, capped and settled in that currency, and money is never added up across currencies in any report. An amount off, free item or custom perk offer is priced in one currency and can only be redeemed at venues trading in it; a percentage off is a share of the bill, so it fits every venue in the programme. An earn multiplier per venue boosts or dampens what a visit or a spend earns there.
Rewards sits beside Events and ticketing, which is on the same Growth plan and puts every ticket buyer in the same guest list your members come from. Points for spend arrive from the Toast and Square integrations, and a venue that also runs Leat can mirror every earn to it as credits. The full list of connectors, including the REST API and webhooks, is in the integrations directory.
Setup, offers, members, points and reports are covered in the Rewards guide; the passes in Rewards wallet passes; the tags, triggers, segments and webhooks in Rewards in your messaging; the one-page staff sheet in Redeeming at the till; and the endpoint reference in Rewards till API and terminal keys.
CaptiFi completely changed my business. Before, every guest was a one-time booking. Now I have a direct line to thousands of people who've stayed in the plane. I can offer them return deals, send updates about new features, and keep them engaged. My repeat booking rate went from almost zero to 35%. It's been incredible.
