The problem

Generic WiFi login screens make your venue look unprofessional. Competitors like Beambox offer rigid templates, and Purple requires HTML knowledge to customize splash pages.

The CaptiFi answer

CaptiFi's visual splash page builder lets you match your brand perfectly. Upload your logo, set your colours, add custom fields, and preview changes in real time before going live.

Who it is for

  • Marketing managers who own the brand
  • Multi-venue groups with one look per site
  • Owners who will never touch HTML
  • Agencies building splash pages for clients
Design controls

The controls a designer would ask for, with no code to write

Brand in one paste

Auto-brand reads your website and fills in logo, colours, fonts, page title and a background photo in 10 to 30 seconds. Review it in the preview, then save.

Live phone preview

Every change appears instantly on a phone-shaped preview. Click any part of it to jump to that section's settings. Nothing publishes until you click Save.

Backgrounds and colours

Gradient, solid colour or your own photo. Theme, accent, text, card and link colours, plus the connect button's text, colour and corner radius.

Your own fields

Add a question, a phone number with a country-code picker, or a date of birth with a minimum age from 13 to 25. Answers become columns on the guest list.

Custom CSS when you want it

Up to 10,000 characters of plain CSS on top of the builder, for fonts, spacing and the card blur. Rules that would hide the form are stripped, so a typo cannot take the page down.

Guest languages

English, French and Spanish, chosen from the phone's language with a one-tap switcher. Everything CaptiFi writes is translated; anything you typed appears exactly as you wrote it in every language.

Your own offer on the page

Upload a Sunday roast, a happy hour or a rooms offer with a headline and a link. Three placements: below the sign-in options, the connected screen, or above the sign-in options. On the screen guests see after connecting, taps are counted over 7 and 30 days and an Add tracking tag button adds utm_source=captifi_splash to the link. Promotions are saved per venue.

The marketing question, your way

Turn the question about your news and offers on or off per venue, write your own wording or keep the standard one, and decide whether an answer is required before connecting. Guests who decline still get online.

Privacy notice and your own policies

Show a privacy collection notice on the form itself, so guests are told what you collect and why at the moment you collect it, and link your venue's own privacy policy and terms of use from the form and the Terms and Privacy pop-ups.

Design library

One venue, many designs, scheduled for you

Every venue has a library of named designs. Build your default once, duplicate it for a quiz night or a festival, and let the planner switch between them: it applies a design at the start time and restores the default at the end, in the venue's own timezone, so nobody logs in at midnight to change it back.

Seasonal templates give you a head start. Each one carries your logo, background photo and venue name over from your default design, so the result already looks like yours before you touch it.

Seasonal templates in the library

  • Christmas
  • Halloween
  • Match Day
  • Valentine's
  • New Year

Browsing templates costs nothing; only designs you create count towards your design limit.

How it works

How to build a branded WiFi splash page with CaptiFi

1

Auto-brand from your website

Open the builder from My Locations, paste your website address into Auto-brand and click Extract. Your logo, colours, fonts, title and a background photo land in the live preview in 10 to 30 seconds.

2

Adjust each section

Click any part of the phone preview to jump to its settings: logo size and position, gradient or photo background, welcome text, sign-in fields, colours, the connect button and your terms link.

3

Add custom fields if you need them

Ask your own question, add a phone number field for SMS, or a date of birth with a minimum age. Answers appear as columns on the guest list.

4

Save and publish

Nothing goes live until you click Save changes. Save it as a named design in the venue library, duplicate it for other venues, or schedule a seasonal version from the planner.

What is a WiFi splash page?

A splash page is the screen a phone opens automatically when it joins a guest WiFi network, before the internet works. It is the venue's captive portal: it can carry the brand, ask for an email address or a phone number and for consent, show terms, and recognise a returning device so a regular never types twice. In CaptiFi the splash page is designed in a visual builder with a live preview, saved per venue as a named design, and swapped on a schedule from the planner.

Does the design affect how many guests sign in?

Yes, and in both directions. A page that looks like the venue earns trust and a short form earns completions, while every extra required field lowers them. CaptiFi venues average a 40 to 60 percent email opt-in, and a shorter form is the surest way towards the top of that range.

CaptiFi is a guest WiFi marketing and captive portal platform for restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes, hotels, gyms, salons, retail and short-term rentals, built by CaptiFi Ltd in the UK and sold in GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, AUD and NZD to venues worldwide.

FAQs

Splash page questions answered

Do I need to know HTML to design the splash page?
No. The builder is visual with a live phone preview: upload a logo, set colours and a font, choose a gradient, solid colour or background photo, pick the sign-in fields and write the welcome text. Paste your website address into Auto-brand and CaptiFi pulls your logo, colours and fonts in for you. A custom CSS box, up to 10,000 characters, is there if you want it.
Can each venue have its own design?
Yes. Every venue has its own design library, so a hotel bar, its restaurant and its lobby can each greet guests differently while the data lands in one account. Duplicate a design across sites, or start from a seasonal template such as Christmas, Halloween or Match Day that carries your logo and background over automatically.
Can I change the splash page for an event without logging in on the night?
Yes. The planner schedules a splash swap: pick a design from your library, set a start and end time in the venue's own timezone, and CaptiFi applies it and then restores the default. The same event can add a message strip or rename the WiFi for the window.
Can I ask my own questions on the sign-in form?
Yes. Custom fields let you add questions such as how did you hear about us, a phone number with a country-code picker for SMS, or a date of birth with a minimum age between 13 and 25. Answers appear as columns on the guest list. Every extra required field lowers completion, so ask only for what you will use.
Does the splash page say Powered by CaptiFi?
On Essentials and Growth a small Powered by CaptiFi line appears. On Pro it can be switched off, so the page is entirely your brand.
Which plan includes the builder?
Every plan. The builder, custom CSS, custom fields and the design library are on Essentials; removing the Powered by CaptiFi line is Pro.
Included in your plan

Full design control of the captive portal is on Essentials, with no design tier above it, and the Powered by CaptiFi line can be switched off on Pro.

CaptiFi completely changed my business. Before, every guest was a one-time booking. Now I have a direct line to thousands of people who've stayed in the plane. I can offer them return deals, send updates about new features, and keep them engaged. My repeat booking rate went from almost zero to 35%. It's been incredible.
