What does the SumUp integration do?

There is no native CaptiFi to SumUp connector. You bridge the two through Zapier, which takes about 10 minutes to set up. SumUp is the card reader of choice for thousands of independents, and it is built to take payments rather than build a marketing list. CaptiFi fills that gap: every guest who joins your WiFi and opts in can flow through Zapier into your email tool or CRM, so a market stall, micro-pub or independent shop running SumUp can capture an email from every visitor, not just the ones who tap to pay.

Connect via Zapier in about 10 minutes

In Zapier, create a Zap with Webhooks by Zapier, Catch Hook, as the trigger, then paste its URL into the Zapier card for your venue on my.captifi.io and switch the venue on.

Add your email tool or CRM as the action and map the email, name and venue fields.

Switch the Zap on. New opted-in guests flow into your marketing stack automatically.

Limits of the Zapier path

This is a Zapier connection, not a native one-click connector. A Zapier account is required and its task limits apply on busy sites.
The flow runs from CaptiFi into your marketing tools. We push opted-in WiFi guests onwards; we do not read individual SumUp sales records back into CaptiFi.
Only opted-in guest data is sent. If you would rather build directly against our API, CaptiFi also exports guest data via CSV, webhook and a documented REST API.

Does CaptiFi have a native SumUp integration?

No. There is no native one-click connector. You connect CaptiFi to SumUp through Zapier, which takes about 10 minutes to set up and works on the Growth plan and above (a 30-day free trial started on Growth or Pro includes it). The POS systems CaptiFi connects to natively are Toast and Square.

Why pair SumUp with guest WiFi?

SumUp is built to take card payments, not to build a marketing list. CaptiFi fills that gap so a UK independent can capture an email from every visitor, not just the ones who pay, and keep a low-cost stack that still drives repeat visits.

What data flows out of CaptiFi?

New opted-in guest contacts, with their email, name and venue, are pushed into the email tool or CRM of your choice through Zapier. The flow runs from CaptiFi outwards, not from SumUp into CaptiFi.

Is guest consent respected?

Yes. Only guests who accept marketing on the splash page are sent to Zapier, and CaptiFi checks for an unsubscribe again just before each send. Each guest arrives with an is_subscribed field set from that answer, so your emails and review requests go to guests who agreed to marketing.
