CaptiFi gives venues guest WiFi marketing with hardware included (refundable hold), transparent monthly pricing, every integration included from the Growth plan up, and a 30-day free trial.
The highest published fee of the platforms compared here: 10% plus 27p with a GBP1 minimum (Skiddle Promotion Centre, read 21 September 2026)
The GBP1 minimum makes cheap tickets expensive: a GBP5 ticket carries a 20% fee
Buyers are Skiddle's audience first; the venue gets the attendee list for that one event
No guest WiFi layer, so the people who walk in without a ticket are never captured
Discovery works for the night it is listed; it does not tell a regular at the bar tonight about next month
No. Skiddle is a serious platform with real strengths. Here's where it genuinely shines: Promoters running club nights or gigs for an audience that does not know the venue yet, where being found on a nightlife listings site is the point and a 10% fee is the cost of that reach. If that sounds like you, Skiddle may be the right fit. CaptiFi is built for venues who want simpler pricing, hardware included (refundable hold), and every integration included from the Growth plan up.

Skiddle's default booking fee is 10% of the face value plus 27p per ticket, with a minimum of GBP1, paid by the customer on top of the price by default; a promoter can absorb it instead, at which point it is a commission taken from revenue. CaptiFi Events charges 7.5% up to GBP20, 6% up to GBP50 and 4.5% above that, with a 30p minimum, card processing included and nothing on a free ticket. Figures read on 21 September 2026.

The GBP1 minimum is what hits a venue's cheap tickets: a GBP5 comedy night or a GBP6 quiz entry carries a 17 to 20 percent fee on Skiddle. CaptiFi's minimum is 30p, so the cheap ticket that fills a Tuesday stays cheap. CaptiFi retail pricing runs in six currencies, and the fee bands have their own thresholds in each one.
Skiddle is a listings site for UK nightlife. A promoter lists a club night, Skiddle's audience finds it, and the fee is the price of that introduction. For a night nobody has heard of, that can be worth 10% and 27p. What the venue gets back is an attendee list for that event; the buyer's habit is to look on Skiddle again next month.
CaptiFi starts from the people already in the building. Every guest who connects to the WiFi joins your list with their consent recorded, so the announcement goes to the regulars first, they buy on your own event page, the money lands in your own Stripe account, and the buyer goes back into the list tagged as a ticket buyer. Tonight's guests see your next event on the WiFi welcome screen without anyone being paid for the introduction.
If you are a promoter putting on a night in a venue that is not yours, or launching something new that needs people who have never been through the door, a nightlife listings site does a job CaptiFi does not attempt. CaptiFi has no consumer audience and no promoter tools such as rep sales or a listings feed. It sells tickets to the list you already have, and if that list is small today, the WiFi will build it, but it will not fill a room this Saturday. Nothing stops you listing the same event on Skiddle while you build your own crowd; the fee only ever applies to the tickets sold through that channel.
Skiddle's default is 10% plus 27p with a GBP1 minimum; CaptiFi is 7.5% up to GBP20, 6% up to GBP50 and 4.5% above, with a 30p minimum and card processing included. On GBP10 that is GBP0.75 against GBP1.27; on GBP25, GBP1.50 against GBP2.77; on GBP60, GBP2.70 against GBP6.27. Figures read on 21 September 2026.
With CaptiFi, your venue does. Paid tickets are charged to your own Stripe account, your name appears on the buyer's statement and Stripe pays you out on your normal schedule. CaptiFi never holds ticket money; its fee is taken from the payment as it settles.
Yes. Every buyer is added to your CaptiFi guest list and tagged as a ticket buyer, with marketing consent recorded only where they gave it, so you can email that segment about the next event.
Growth and above. Free events and RSVPs need no Stripe account; connecting Stripe is only needed before the first paid ticket goes on sale.
