Beambox sells guest WiFi marketing to hospitality and retail venues. A guest joins the WiFi through a login page carrying your brand, their details go into your Beambox guest list, and from there the platform can follow up by email, text and review request. The homepage invites you to "Join over 12,000 businesses".

We've written this review from Beambox's own website and help centre, read on 28 October 2026. CaptiFi sells a guest WiFi platform as well, so the review sticks to what Beambox publishes about itself, and every page we used is linked at the bottom. Where its pages don't cover something, we've left it out.

What is Beambox?

The heart of it is a captive portal. Beambox says you can "customize your splash page's colors, logos, fonts, and more", and its help article on GDPR explains that it records each guest's acceptance of your policies along with their marketing opt-in. Once a guest is on the list, Beambox's automated messages (it calls them Interactions) can send "personalized emails or SMS messages", for example to welcome new guests, send birthday wishes, reward regulars or win back people who haven't been in for a while.

Beambox plans and prices

Beambox publishes its prices. Here's what the pricing page showed on 28 October 2026, per location a month:

PlanMonthly billingWhat the plan card adds
Essential£29 a monthThe entry plan
Growth£45 a monthUnlimited emails to your guests, Interactions for automated emails, and integrations with Zapier, Mailchimp, Twilio "and thousands more"
Pro£60 a monthReview Automator, 250 free SMS sends a month, and the Beambox API

Yearly plans are also available.

Groups pay less per site. Beambox's help article on pricing options says that for locations "sharing the same branding" the first pays full price, the 2nd to 10th get 15% off and the 11th onwards 25% off.

The size of your guest list counts too. Beambox's help article on guest database charges says its plans "include 1000 Guests free of charge", and that above that "you will be charged an additional fee on top of your monthly subscription". Its table charges by band of guest numbers, at £10 a month a band in pounds, with dollar, euro and Canadian dollar prices beside it.

Hardware and setup

You can run Beambox in two ways. Its own Plug & Play access point comes with the trial ("the first Beambox is included with your trial"), further Beambox units cost a one-time fee, and the hardware goes back to Beambox if you cancel. Or you connect access points you already have: Beambox names UniFi, Meraki, Omada, Aruba, MikroTik, Ruckus and Cambium.

Those brands don't all connect the same way. Beambox's help article on installation methods puts UniFi, Meraki and Omada under cloud integrations, and Aruba, MikroTik, Ruckus and Cambium under self-install guides that it describes as "completely self-managed". Worth knowing before you book an install day if you're on one of the second group.

Email, texts, reviews and integrations

Email campaigns and Interactions come with Growth, and Growth's integrations include Twilio. Pro adds 250 free SMS sends a month.

Review Automator is a Pro feature. Beambox's help article on growing reviews explains how guests are routed: "if they choose a rating of 3 stars or less, they will be redirected to an internal feedback form". The review sites its reviews page names are Tripadvisor, Google, Yelp and Facebook.

For getting data out, the help centre's integrations collection covers CSV exporting, the Beambox API, Mailchimp, Zapier, Twilio and a Square POS integration. A Beambox post dated 11 March 2025 announcing the Square link says it's for "subscribers with a Growth+ Pro plan".

Pros and cons

Every point here is something Beambox publishes. Whether it counts for or against depends on your venue, so read them against what you need.

In its favour

  • Prices are on the website, per location: £29, £45 and £60 a month on monthly billing, with yearly plans also available.
  • A 30-day trial with the first Beambox access point included, and the homepage says there are no set-up costs.
  • Its own device or seven named brands of access point, with cloud integrations for UniFi, Meraki and Omada.
  • Discounts of 15% for locations 2 to 10 and 25% from the 11th, where they share the same branding.
  • Email automation, texts, review requests, a Square POS link, Zapier and an API all appear on its plans or in its help centre.

Things to weigh

  • Review Automator, the 250 free texts and the API are on Pro, the top plan.
  • Aruba, MikroTik, Ruckus and Cambium use self-install guides that Beambox calls "completely self-managed".
  • Plans include 1,000 guests; past that, a monthly charge is added for each band of guests (£10 a month a band in its help centre).

Who Beambox suits

Going by what it publishes, Beambox fits a venue that wants a device in the box for the trial, or one already on UniFi, Meraki or Omada that wants the cloud integration. Multi-site groups under one brand get the location discounts, and a venue that expects a big guest list should check the guest database charges. If review requests and texts are the reason you're looking, budget for Pro, which is where Review Automator and the free texts sit.

Where CaptiFi differs

CaptiFi works the same broad way, so the differences are in the detail. Review requests and email campaigns start on Essentials, and the review requests go out after the visit to guests who opted in, sending guests who rate at or above your minimum on to Google, Tripadvisor, Yelp, Facebook, Trustpilot and more. Each plan has a monthly allowance of new guests (500 new guests a month on Lite, 1,000 on Essentials, 5,000 on Growth and 15,000 on Pro). Review platforms connect from Essentials, and the marketing and till integrations, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Toast POS and Square POS among them, come with Growth along with an API and webhooks.

On hardware, CaptiFi has setup guides for 9 vendor ecosystems, UniFi, Omada and Meraki among them. Plan prices are on the pricing page in six currencies (Enterprise is custom), with Essentials at $69/mo. Every CaptiFi plan starts with a 30-day free trial (you add a card to start), and the CaptiFi device is included on every plan against a refundable deposit of $99. Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about this topic.

What is Beambox and what does it do?
Beambox is a guest WiFi marketing platform. Guests join a venue's WiFi through a branded login page, their details go into the venue's Beambox guest list with their policy acceptance and marketing opt-in recorded, and Beambox can follow up with automated emails and texts, which it calls Interactions, and with review requests. Its homepage invites you to join over 12,000 businesses.
How much does Beambox cost?
Beambox publishes its prices per location. On 28 October 2026 its UK pricing page showed £29, £45 and £60 a month on monthly billing (Essential, Growth, Pro), with yearly plans also available. Yes. Beambox's homepage offers a 30-day trial with no set-up costs, and its pricing FAQ says the first Beambox access point is included with the trial. Which access points does Beambox work with?
Its own Plug & Play Beambox, or existing UniFi, Meraki, Omada, Aruba, MikroTik, Ruckus and Cambium access points.
