MailerLite + CaptiFi
Add WiFi guests who accept marketing to your MailerLite groups as subscribers, so group automations can start from the sign-in. Growth plan and above.
What does the MailerLite integration do?
MailerLite is a native CaptiFi connector on the Growth plan and above. Paste a MailerLite API token and up to 10 group IDs into the MailerLite card on my.captifi.io, switch the venue on, and each WiFi guest who accepts marketing joins those groups as a subscriber within minutes of signing in. Subscribers are matched by email, and anyone who unsubscribed, bounced or was marked as junk in MailerLite is never resubscribed.
The MailerLite integration is a native CaptiFi connector. Each venue connects with an API token from its MailerLite account and the IDs of the MailerLite groups guests should join, up to 10, pasted into the MailerLite card on the Integrations page of my.captifi.io. Once the venue is switched on, every guest who signs in to the WiFi and accepts marketing on your splash page is added to those groups as a subscriber within minutes of signing in. Ticket buyers who tick the marketing box on your CaptiFi events page join the same groups. Each venue can point at its own groups, or several venues can share them.
Each subscriber carries the guest's email address, plus their first name (MailerLite's name field) and last name when the guest gave them. A blank name is never sent, so a guest who skips the name field cannot wipe a name MailerLite already holds. The phone number goes across only for guests who also agreed to marketing texts and have not texted STOP. MailerLite matches subscribers by email, so a regular who signs in every week updates the same subscriber each time.
Anyone who unsubscribed, bounced or was marked as junk in MailerLite stays that way, because CaptiFi never resubscribes them. If you turn on MailerLite's own double opt-in for API and integrations setting, MailerLite emails new guests its confirmation email first and they join as unconfirmed until they click; with the setting off, they join as active straight away. MailerLite automations that start when a subscriber joins a group fire for WiFi guests, so a welcome sequence can begin from the WiFi sign-in. The integration is included on the Growth plan and above with no per-integration fee.
Why connect MailerLite to CaptiFi
Guests join the groups you choose
Each WiFi guest who accepts marketing is added to the MailerLite groups you set for the venue, up to 10, with no CSV exports or Zapier account in between.
Welcome sequences from the sign-in
MailerLite automations that start when a subscriber joins a group fire for WiFi guests, so the sign-in can open your welcome sequence.
Opt-outs are left alone
CaptiFi never resubscribes anyone who unsubscribed, bounced or was marked as junk in MailerLite, and a blank name from the splash form never overwrites a name MailerLite already holds.
Group IDs checked at setup
Test connection checks the API token and every group ID together. If a group ID is wrong, it lists the groups in your MailerLite account with their IDs so you can copy the right one.
What data flows to MailerLite
Up and running in minutes
Create an API token in MailerLite
In MailerLite, open Integrations, then MailerLite API, generate a new token and copy it. Leave the token's IP allowlist empty so CaptiFi can reach your account.
Copy your group IDs
MailerLite lists your groups with their IDs under Subscribers, then Groups. Copy the ID of each group WiFi guests should join, up to 10.
Paste both into CaptiFi
Log in to my.captifi.io, open Integrations and open the MailerLite card. Paste the token and the group IDs, separated by commas, and save. The token is stored encrypted and write-only, so after saving the dashboard shows only a masked confirmation.
Test the connection
Press Test connection. It checks the token and every group together, and if a group ID is wrong it lists the groups in your MailerLite account with their IDs.
Switch the venue on
Only guests who connect after you switch the venue on are synced. They join your MailerLite groups within minutes of signing in.

How venues use MailerLite with CaptiFi
A cafe sends WiFi guests to a WiFi Guests group with a welcome automation attached, so a first-time visitor starts the sequence from their sign-in, and each return visit updates the same subscriber.
A restaurant group gives each site its own MailerLite group, so the newsletter for one kitchen reaches the guests who signed in there. Sites that want a single list point at the same group instead.
A venue that sells tickets through CaptiFi adds ticket buyers who tick the marketing box to the same groups as its WiFi guests, so one MailerLite audience holds both.
